| Led by four CW40-8’s, northbound time freight Q697 kicks up snow as they split the Clinchfield signals at N.E. Johnson City with traffic for Kingsport. My good friend K. Hazen was conducting this day!
The new alignment here was put into service on October 16, 1970 as part of Clinchfield’s “High Line” that eased the mainline grades around Johnson City. The US&S signals pictured have since been replaced. |
