On October 17, 2015 an intense thunderstorm moved through Northern AZ. The lightning had been intense that afternoon, but as the train approached the activity somewhat stopped. As I began snapping photos with the dark sky in the background I missed a pretty large cluster of lightning bolts, but still got lucky as hell to catch the tail end of it striking immediately behind the locomotives out in the wide open desert of Northern AZ. The cows in the foreground were unimpressed by Mother Nature. The shot was taken at Canyon Diablo. The head end is over the famous bridge at this point.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
