Swan Road, Burnett, WI. On the 2015 Historic Transport Preservation Charter with SOO 1003, the patrons never rode the train, chasing instead, using maps provide by the tour organizer. During lunch in Horicon, the tour leader announced that the train would reposition to Burnett over the lunch hour and that patrons could take advantage of any of the several grade crossings on the route to grab a few shots of the 1003 en route. Here's my grab at one of the two Swan Road crossings. The rain at this spot was about as steady and heavy as it had been all day, making photography particularly difficult, but the 1003 made the effort worth the trouble, rewarding us with a nice "salt-and-pepper" plume as she blew through the crossing at track speed.
