BN 770, an x-NP passenger F9A mates up with a former NP F7B and F7A along side the Staples, MN roundhouse and shops late on a June afternoon isn 1974. 770 is carrying its new freight number while retaining its BN passenger color scheme at least for now. Although most of what is in this photo is now gone, Staples remains an important junction point on the BNSF main from Fargo as this is where trains to the Twin Cities separate from unit coal trains to Superior, WI.
Not
