Over a snowy Marias Pass, a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal train passes a frozen mountain lake west of Bison, Montana, on December 21, 1998. Three newer GE C44-9Ws power the train in the early BNSF “Heritage I” paint—Nos. 987, 994 and 970.
