| The prairies of Eastern Washington are littered with small concrete grain silos like this pair at Downs. As the sun sinks low in the sky on a late summer day, they stand guard over one last train, an eastbound Z racing toward Spokane and the coming night. The crew has had an uneventful run since Wenatchee, and it should be smooth running to Spokane as well as they rocket east at track speed. |
