Strates on the Southern Tier
The annual Strates Carnival train is seen heading West through Lackawaxen, PA after spending a few months in the New York State. This year the train featured one of Norfolk Southern's SD60E's leading another SD60 variant on a beautiful Summer afternoon and was well documented throughout its run on the Southern Tier. The tracks in the foreground of this shot belong to the Delaware, Lackawaxen & Stourbridge Line which returned to service earlier this year. While they aren't running trains this far East, in time they hope to bring guests all the way to Lackawaxen once the necessary repairs to the track are made. |
