"The Carnival Comes to Town"
The annual Strates carnival train is seen passing through Hillside with a pair of CSX EMD's providing power. While the train visits the area annually its a difficult train to shoot due to it having no set schedule. This year the train ran through New Jersey after sunrise on a beautiful Spring morning. Following the 2 day journey on CSX rails, the Strates train would be handed off to NS at Croxton for a run up the Southern Tier to its destination of Middletown, NY. |
