This little unit has lead quit the life while working on the railroad. It began as an F7A passenger unit for the Santa Fe in 1953, then became part of the Converted F7 (CF7) rebuild program at Cleburne in the late 60s. After working for the Santa Fe, it was sold off to National Railway Leasing in the late 80s before finally becoming part of Pioneer Railcorp where it still resides. These days it can be found on that short line’s Mississippi Central Railroad which operates 51 miles of track between Oxford, MS and Grand Junction, TN moving wood products, feed ingredients and fertilizer in the Magnolia State.
