Amtrak Springfield Shuttle train 401, connects Springfield MA with New Haven CT, at which point passengers will connect with weekend only Northeast Regional train 161, traveling from Boston MA to Washington DC. Train 401 consists of P42DC 108, Amfleet coach 82526 and cab car (and former Metroliner cab/coach) 9644. The 9644 was built in 1967 as Penn Central 804, later becoming Amtrak 804. By the time train 401 departs at 10:40 this morning, it should have a nice coating of fresh snow on its roof. (Springfield, Massachusetts – January 24, 2015)
