Remarks & Notes |
BNSF 1700 and Bluebonnet 1760 (both SD40-2's) head out of the Denver Yard, crossing the South Platte River which looks like a sauna as the air temperature hits minus 6 degrees. The temperature that evening would break the record for the coldest ever for that day, at a bone chilling minus 17 degrees (lower if you take in to account the wind chill factor). Props to all the train and yard crews that have to work in such conditions. |
