Former semaphores signaling in Empalme 2, near Diego de Almagro. There are very few semaphores of this type currently operating in Chilean railways. This is the railway junction from the north mainline ("Longitudinal Norte") at Diego de Almagro, where born the railway branch to Chañaral and Barquito seaport. And in the evening, this train coming from Barquito, passes through this old and desolate place to Llanta, and then to Potrerillos.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
