Hammering up Cass Hill. The hulking, 162-ton Western Maryland Shay #6 leads the charge as a Cass triple-header passes the scenic overlook just short of the switches at Old Spruce. This was a typical day on Cass Hill in May. A little sun, a lot of clouds, and just plain cold. Memorial Day was but a week away, and I was wishing my winter coat wasn't still in the closet back home!
