Remarks & Notes |
The northbound lite power move of X786 is seen about to roll south out of the siding at Opelika after a meet with southbound Q619. Since the northbound signal to get out of the Opelika siding usually never works, X786 thinks it will save time by rolling south then heading back north to continue its move to Atlanta. The engines will only move south of the NAS south end signal by about 100 feet before they stop to head north, unfortunately that would be too close for the NAS south end signal to change to a clear and thus they would end up having to call the dispatcher for permission past the red board. Had the Dispatcher ran Q619 into the siding and kept X786 on the main, this meet would have ran a lot smoother and been done 30+ minutes quicker. |
