Double headed Lawley locomotives bring a passenger train into Hoekfontein. These miniature sized locomotives were first used on the 100 mile long 2 foot gauge railway that ran inland from Beira (Mozambique) to Umtali (Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe) that was built in 1898. They were nicknamed 'Lawleys' after Mr Lawley, the construction and operations manager on the railway at that time.
