Rock Island Train 18, "Twin Star Rocket," barrels eastward out of North Topeka, Ks. on time on Union Pacific track en route to Kansas City where it will return to home rails. Operating from Houston to Minneapolis, the "Twin Star" was one of the country's longest north-south runs, 1363 miles, which was covered in 25 and a half hours. However by this May 22, 1966 date, the run had been cut back to Ft. Worth, but still the train had a working RPO.
