Two Conrail trains part ways at Horseshoe Curve west of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on October 21, 1988. In the foreground pushing on an upgrade TV intermodal train are SD40-2 No. 6425 and SD40 No. 6289. In the background helping a heavy coal train down the grade with dynamic brakes howling are a pair of SD45-2s.
