| Symbolic of the troubles Amtrak's been facing during the awful weather across the Midwest is this very late westbound Lakeshore Limited leaving Toledo. They lost hours in town, first a considerable amount of time adding the NS power to help the ailing Amtrak power and then after moving a mile out of the depot they waited another 2 hours for stack train ahead to move through a balky switch and get it lined back - all due to the bitter cold, deep snow and uncooperative cold steel. So here they are finally moving well out of town as they blast through some drifts at the Wenz Rd. crossing. |
