Remarks & Notes |
With a gauge of only 750mm the Waldenburgerbahn is the railway with the smallest gauge in Switzerland with regular traffic. The Line connects Waldenburg to Liestal and provides all half an hour a train in each direction throughout the day. Most of the line runs along the street (as seen here in Niederdorf) - some smaller parts are even street running parts. Currently the EMU from the 1980ies are still in use and beeing refurbished for some further years of running, but it is planned to replace them by the end of the decade completely. |
