| Amtrak 64 leads the descent on the west slope of Raton Pass. Until the early 1950's this stretch was double tracked on both sides of the pass. Now, the second portal is sealed and the west slope has a siding at Keota. A careful eye will see the treacherous grade winding up the the pass in the background. |
