| Due to the extension of the railway company GySEV, a lot of diesel railway lines have fallen under its jurisdiction. As there was no any kind of locomotive for long-distance trains owned by the company, a load of M41s were hired for irreally huge prices.
That’s why it was neccesary to get competent locomotives (provided with train-heating system and Vmax 120 km/h). In the end the GySEV made a decision to rent four BR 232s (’gas guzzlers’), which is still cheaper solution then renting M41s from the Hungarian Railway Company (MÁV). |
