Two Albany and Eastern B23-7s lead a short log train under deep blue skies on Sept. 18, 2013 through the scenic Willamette Valley of western Oregon. The A&E is made up of former Southern Pacific and Burlington Northern branch lines and is based in Lebanon. On this day, the railroads two B23-7s did some switching in Lebanon before heading up the old Mill City Branch with some empty log cars for Crabtree. After a few hours, the train returned to town with a cut of loaded log cars. With orange GEs and fresh cut logs, it was hard not to think of the old Maine Central back home in New England.
