| The northbound Adirondack Scenic train from Utica to Thendara (Old Forge) glides across Kayuta Lake. THe Kayuta Trestle is one of only three truss bridges on this mountain railroad; the others are all plate-girder bridges. The northern portion of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad is in potential jeopardy; a highly-motivated and well-funded group of citizens wants the state-owned line torn up and turned into a bicycle and snowmobile trail.
