| This was my first and very impressive view of the re-created 'IT57' special on the reverse curves at Gisburn. It's been 45 years since that final steam-hauled special on 11th August 1968. Nicknamed the 'Fifteen Guinea Special' (Fifteen Pounds, Fifteen Shillings). This was a colossal amount of money back in those days, though I expect todays's passengers wish that was still the price now! |
