Remarks & Notes |
on the left a northbound BNSF coal empty has just come over the top of the Palmer Divide and is starting the fifty mile descent to Denver while on the right a southbound BNSF coal load has been waiting for it's turn over the top at the "Sag". Most southbound trains that will be held at Palmer Lake, the beginning of forty miles of single track stop here because in this short stretch the grade lessens do to the connecting of the exSanta Fe to the exRio Grande when this route became the Joint Line |
