| African Rail & Traction Services (AR&TS) have their own fleet of locomotives which are leased to various industrial users, but they also undertake complete overhauls, rebuilds and repainting at their workshops in Pretoria. Seen in the workshop on 5th June 2013 was Exxaro Grootgeluk Coal No.5 (GE U20C ex- SAR class 33 #33-471) undergoing a complete overhaul and upgrade with Siemens control systems. Next in line is ex- Queensland Railways (Australia) Goninan-GE Type C22-MMi #2612 in the process of being overhauled and repainted in the AR&TS blue livery .
