Remarks & Notes |
Amtrak Detours Via the Feather River Canyon! Due to a derailment along UP's Shasta Route (just north of Dunsmuir), Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight was forced to detour via the Feather River Canyon and BNSF Gateway Subdivision. Although the train was over 12 hours late at this point, the passengers were treated to a very scenic journey up the canyon. Here the train makes an early morning appearance in Serpentine Canyon as it heads up the UP Canyon Subdivision near Belden, California. Soon the train would arrive at the Keddie Junction and take the left hand turn towards Klamath Falls. |
