With its old pantograph removed (and sitting in the left foreground), Amtrak AEM7 909 is resting before having its pantograph replaced by the hard-working shop crew at Wilmington. With the AEM7's being on borrowed time, very few of them are getting completely overhauled anymore, and are only having the necessary parts replaced. Just as the sight of GG1's in this shop disappeared several decades ago, this scene will disappear in the near future as well.
