Train 17, the North Coast Hiawatha rolls by Carkeek Park in north Seattle behind a pair of BN F45s on New Years Day 1977. The F45s and former E8 heater car are substituting for SDP40Fs which had been removed from BN Amtrak routes due to derailment concerns at high speeds.
