| Deep in the Churnet Valley, the railway winds its way past steeply wooded hillsides and the meadows that nestle in the narrow valley bottom alongside the river. Save for the passing of an early morning freight there's nothing but birdsong to disturb the tranquility of this timeless and classic English scene. |
