| One probably wouldn't expect to see a pair of McCloud River Railroad SD38s dragging a long freight train in Utah. The power short Union Pacific leased two of these EMDs from McCloud between 1988 and 1989 and assigned them to work the LUF51 local between Salt Lake City and Provo. UPL (Union Pacific Lease) 36 and 37 are pictured hauling cars from Geneva Steel across the Provo River bridge near Provo on May 7, 1988. |
