| One of the last holdouts for cabooses in the Salt Lake City pool was the weekday only 'Sandy Local' that ran between North Yard and Draper on the Provo Subdivision (now UTA TRAX). Here the freshly painted UP 1580 leads an abbreviated 'Sandy' through Salt Lake City's South Yard on the Passenger Main. This real estate was redeveloped in the late 90s as the Gateway Mall. In fact, the photographer is standing at what is now Biaggi's Restaurant, serving gourmet Italian cuisine. |
