Union Pacific #844 roars through Palisade Canyon on its way west towards Sacramento, CA. The 4-8-4 is running on the ex-Southern Pacific mainline. Both the ex-SP and the ex-WP mainlines share this narrow canyon carved eons ago by the Humboldt River.
