The last glimmer of sunlight glazes the Lochaber coast as the 18:15 departure from Mallaig climbs away from Glasnacardoch Bay, destined for Fort William and a cross-platform connection with the London-bound Caledonian Sleeper. Out in the bay a ferry rumbles across the calm waters toward the Isle of Skye; rising on the left is the 2,402' summit of Beinn na Caillich in the Red Cuillin (not to be confused with the other Beinn na Caillich located on the Isle).
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
