Remarks & Notes |
Having opened the road for my coalie to depart Charbon colliery, I take a quick photo. Quad candy stripes scheme units will work the 3100 tonner coalie back home to Lithgow. The motive power of a 44 class, 442 class and pair of 81 class capable of lifting 3184 tonnes on the 1 in 40 grades. I was torn between sitting in the cab of the old beast and the more modern 81 class. But, draw gear restrictions plus locos that transition had to lead those that do not. |
