Remarks & Notes

NWP #2009 and #1922 idles the rail train (continuous welded rail) while the next section of rail is prepared for off-loading on the other side of a grade crossing just ahead. Seen on the ground is a section of previously dropped rail. The old rail between Santa Rosa and San Rafael is being replaced with CWR during the SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) construction project.
