Surely, few sights can enthral like this wonderful image, by my friend the late Raymond Rourke. An 'A4' pacific at its magnificent best, captured in garter blue livery with raised aluminium numerals and red-painted motion - WOW! Raymond was an unsurpassed videographer but he also knew how to take superb stills. The dry stone walling, carefully hand built with no mortar and so characteristic of the enclosed fields in these fells and dales, makes a classic foreground.
