| Railroading at 30-below! - It is 30 degrees below zero and dropping on a Tuesday afternoon in Alaska's second largest city. A lone yard unit is coupled to a long string of TOFC flats and has pulled them out the north end of the yard on to the Eielson Branch and over the Noyes Slough bridge. They are doubling these cars to the rear end of the tanks built on the Golden Heart lead down beside Fairbanks' passenger depot. Just another typical day of winter railroading in the 49th state. |
