| British Railways Standard Class 7MT Pacific 70000 Britannia has finally returned to mainline service after nearly 14 years. Her first duty, a Cathedrals Express railtour from Oxford to Canterbury is seen here at Purley-on-Thames near Reading. The train is approaching signals that have just cleared, having followed a stopping service all the way down the Thames Valley from Didcot and the driver is on the whistle to warn a track worker who is fortunately out of shot. Current livery is unlined black rather than the more familiar lined brunswick green. A lovely spring day, but still early in the morning and cool enough for a good exhaust display |
