Remarks & Notes |
Landfall! - A cut of mixed freight cars are gingerly pulled of the AML barge Fairbanks Provider by a pair of ARR geeps (unseen around the curve to the right). This is the first time these cars have hit land in nearly a week after a 1000 mile journey by sea from the barge slip in Seattle where the ARR interchanges with the UP & BNSF. This view looks across the slip from the stern of the barge itself up towards the yard and the "city" of Whittier. Note: the photographer is a railroad employee with permission to be on the property and was wearing all required PPE while taking this photograph. |
