In fading light, the Z-KCKSBD1-17 lead by brand new ES44DC 7758 and sister 7754 exits the west end of Abo Canyon. The BNSF “swoosh” logo is just starting to make inroads on the system’s newest locomotives. This Z train departed Kansas City ontime this morning and will refuel and inspect at Belen before continuing its journey to San Bernardino with anxious LTL and truckload customers awaiting its arrival.
