| It takes a lot of power to lift heavy trains over the Tehachapi Mountains, as evidenced by this Santa Fe eastbound lead by F45 5903. Ten six-axle diesels from factories in La Grange IL and Erie PA are on the head-end on a foggy December 23, 1978 - all struggling against the force of gravity. |
