It's not quite the first mile of railroad (That's about a 1/4 mile northwest of here) but it is a busy section of railroad. This is the CSX (former B&O) mailine. It now hosts in this small section, the mainline between New York and points south, trains heading for the Old Maine Line, the MARC Camden line and half of all the traffic heading to Locus Point. Under the bridge, switches dot the line. Trains can go straight, diverge into former Mt. Winans yard or diverge towards Curtis Bay yard. It can get very busy here at times. The multitude of possibile routes accounts for a complete B&O CPL with all lunars and indications on the track the train is on.
