BEFORE: A recently (at the time) aquired East Cooper & Berkley Railroad's GP9 #6554 finds a new home on South Carolina's newest (at the time) shortline, Greenville & Western Railway, which operates 12.74 miles of trackage from Pelzer to Belton. This was once a part of the Piedmont & Northern Railway, which later (1969) merged with the Seaboard Coast Line, then in 1986 merged into CSX's Belton Subdivison up until now. At the current time of this photo, sister unit ECBR 6513 had been overhauled and repainted into Greenville & Western colors and was the main motive power.
