During the height of the blizzard conditions faced on Monday, December 27, Amtrak's Vermonter train #55 is pulling to a stop at Claremont Jct., NH to retrieve passengers heading south.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
