We are standing on the Boulevard overpassing looking south along the SCL and RF&P as southbound SCL No. 21, the "Silver Star," leaves Richmond, VA in April, 1971. Confused? Looking south at an approaching southbound train? Actually, No. 21 has made its station stop at Broad Street Station, gone around the loop and will head north for about a half mile before going around Acca Wye and heading south via the former ACL. As information, we are looking south along the former SAL, the RF&P and Richmond Terminal. The former SAL Hermitage Yard car shops can be seen on the upper left and the tracks to the left are the leads to Hermitage Yard. Hermitage Yard is closed and all operations have been moved to RF&P's Acca Yard, about a mile to the north. No. 21 is on the outbound tracks from Broad Street Station. The tracks to the right are the inbound tracks to the station and the concourse can be seen on the upper right.
