This is a set of "Block Indicators" protecting the crossing of the Los Angeles Junction and the Union Pacific San Pedro Branch. These indicators show if the block is occupied or not. LAJ trains stop here to see if the track is clear before manually operating the interlocking with a switch key, and crossing the UP.
