General Mitre's train number 179 leaves the northern surroundings of Retiro Station for its destination at Rosario Norte, 4 and a half hours away. Train is about to pass under the steel bridge which allows the double-track line of the General San Martin Railroad to cross over the four tracks of the General Mitre Railroad. Electro-Motive Division of General Motors built #9018 in mid-1972, one of the order of 40 broad-gauge GT22CW's purchased by Ferrocarriles Argentinos in that year.
