Amtrak 68, the SB Adirondack, is taking the connector from CPF-485 on the Canadian Pacific to the Conrail Chicago Line as EB train CP 310 holds on the CP main for Amtrak to clear. The time is approx. 5:16 PM This is the point where the Adirondack transfers from CP trackage (former D&H) to Conrail (CSX today) trackage on its journey from Montreal to NYC. The Schenectady Amtrak station is directly behind me. 310 is just a few miles from its destination of Mohawk Yard and a Guilford connection after originating in Buffalo. Power for 310 is two GATX ex MP-UP SD40-2 lessors, 2007 and 2009 plus CP RS18u 1810. The GATX #2007 later became CP #5429 and GATX #2009 later became CP #5431. The tracks in the foreground are the Conrail Chicago Line. CP changed the symbol on 310 to 270 at a later date.
