Remarks & Notes |
Just about 15 minutes after leaving the boarding area in nearby Pittston, the "Four and a Quarter" has reached relatively level track and is beginning to accelerate to track speed with her diesel consort hanging on (for dear life) to her coat tails. Here she blows for the McAlpine St. crossing on the east side of Duryea, PA in the beautiful morning sunshine. For the first time, I'm getting a taste of what she sounds like at speed. It's not difficult for me to understand why Pennsylvania steam enthusiasts are "hopelessly devoted to blue!" |
